This image of Puerto Rican trans liberation activist Sylvia Rivera was created in partnership with Familia Trans Queer Liberation Movement and Sylvia Rivera Law Project.
It was created during Pride 2019, on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, when Sylvia Rivera and others fought back against police violence. The image expresses our love for a beloved transcestor, our rage at the white supremacist corporate appropriation of Pride, and our commitment to continue Sylvia’s legacy of resistance.
