This poster was designed with the Ella Baker Center in July 2013, for Night Out for Safety & Democracy
While we were designing the poster, George Zimmerman was acquited for the murder of Trayvon Martin, and the poster’s message took on a new level of meaning and urgency. As the Black Lives Matter movement and calls to abolish ICE and police have grown, the vision of this poster have continued to inspire us.
