Jews traditionally light a candle on the death-aversary of a loved one. In Yiddish this is called a “yartzeit” (anniversary) candle. They’re also lit before fasting on Yom Kippur, on the last days of Passover & Sukkot, and on Shavuot. This ancient practice is a way of marking, celebrating, grieving and communicating with our beloved ancestors.

Its hard to find yahrzeit candles that dont support zionist companies, so we’re making our own queer culture as we’ve always done. This candle celebrates that queer liberation and Palestinian liberation are one and our struggle against zionist genocide is a holy struggle.

Add the sticker to the jar of any candle that burns 24+ hours to make your own diy yahrzeit candle.
